Media Training and Education

Connections demonstrated the required skills that enabled their effective engagement with our cohort, who are often labelled as hard to reach, and as such have been excluded from mainstream education.
All young people involved with the Connections project received OCN accreditations in Video & Web Production. This highlighted Connections’ ability to achieve positive outcomes for young people and contribute to increasing their emotional literacy.

Connections has 25 years experience of supporting young people to develop life-changing skills. It works in partnership with schools and youth groups to deliver creative media workshops for young people who are at risk of offending or exclusion. It is currently supporting young people to co-ordinate a film festival and produce six short films.

Interested in making films or music, Connections has got three projects for you to get involved in.

Connections young people creative forum meets every three weeks and provides an opportunity for you to get involved with film and music projects. Connections works closely with the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Recent young people’s productions have been screened on BBC2, Channel 4 website, Community Channel and the ITV Local website.
